OPEN TO THE PUBLIC The following notice is hereby given in accordance with State Rule 183-1-12-.02(3)(b)(2)(i), 183-1-12-.07(7) and Georgia Election Code ยง 21-2-374 and 21-2-379.6: Preparation and Testing of the following voting equipment to be used in the December 4, 2018 General Runoff Election will Commence on Monday, November 19, 2018 at 9:30 a.m., at the Rockdale County Board of Elections Office, 1400 Parker Road, Lobby C, Conyers, Ga. 30094. Voting Equipment to be tested: (1)Direct Recording Electronic Units (Touch Screen Voting Units), (2)Optical Scan Tabulators and (3)ExpressPoll Units with Barcode Scanners. Testing of the DRE Units and ExpressPoll Units with Barcode Scanners will be conducted by placing the memory card or Flashcard in the DRE/ExpressPoll Units to be used for such precinct and running a series of tests. The DRE and ExpressPoll Units with Barcode Scanners shall not be used unless they successfully pass all prescribed tests. After successfully testing each DRE Unit, the unit shall be cleared of any accumulated vote totals and a zero tape shall be ran to verify that the vote registers in the DRE Unit is set at zero. Testing of the Optical Scan Tabulators will be conducted by processing a pre-audited group of ballots so marked as to record a predetermined number of valid votes for each candidate and on each question and shall include for each office one or more ballots which are improperly marked and one or more ballots which have votes in excess of the number allowed by law in order to test the ability of the Optical Scan Tabulator to reject such votes. The Optical Scanning Tabulator shall not be approved unless it produces an errorless count. The testing will continue until all units are prepared and tested. This process is open to the General public.
