April 18 XYZ Meeting

XYZ (xtra years of zest) for persons 50 and above will meet at the First Baptist Church gym, Ga. Highway 138 N., Conyers, at 10:30 am. Entertainment will be the Early Learning Center children. Everyone is urged to attend. Chef Hugh Banks’ menu is Cornish hen with gravy on yellow rice, green beans, Romaine salad, and a surprise dessert with drinks for $8 per person. 20 VFW Golf Tournament

The Conyers VFW will host its annual golf tournament at Honey Creek Country Club with a 9 a.m. tee-off time. Prizes and lunch will be provided. Entry fees are $60 for an individual and $240 for a team of four. Proceeds will assist veterans, their needy families, and local youth education benefits. Free Easter Egg Hunt

East Metro For Social Justice will hold a rally on the Covington Square from 3 to 6 p.m. Come learn about nonpartisan issues that affect the nation, Georgia and our local community. Bring a chair and come enjoy the sunshine and the speakers and topics.


28 Blessing of Animals

Allen Memorial United Methodist Church will host a Creation Celebration and Blessing of Animals from 11 a.m. to noon at the church at 803 Whatcoat St., Oxford, All pets, large and small, are welcome. 30 Salem High Band Spring Concert

The Salem High School Band will present its Spring Concert at 7 p.m. at 3551 Underwood Road, Conyers. The event is free to attend and open to the public.


4 Oxford Lions Yard Sale

The Oxford Lions Club will host a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the corner of Clark and Emory streets in Oxford. Spaces are available at no charge, but donations will be accepted. Profits will go to Lions sight preservation services. For more information, call 770-786-4896.
