COVINGTON - The Covington Woman’s Club has elected member Lindsey Moore as their 2019/2020 President. Moore is a 10-year Covington resident and owner of Moxie Fitness. She has been honored as the Entrepreneur of the Year in 2016 from the Newton Citizen Newspaper, and in 2018 she was recognized as an honoree in the Covington News “40 Under 40” recognizing the most influential people under the age of 40 in Newton County. She is a founding member of the Young Professional of Newton County and co-Founder of the Magnolia Village Market, a community event that promotes local micro-businesses.

“I’m extremely excited to serve this club and our community,” stated Moore. “My goals for this year are to increase membership and get our club out into the community again so we can do what we love. You’ll be seeing a lot more of us very soon.”

The club also elected former president Ms. Nancy Brown at Vice President, Dianna Saltzgiver as Secretary and Billie Hester as Treasurer.

The Covington Woman’s Club is a member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC) and is the oldest Woman’s Club in the state of Georgia, having been founded in 1898. The mission of the club is to carry out charitable service programs, provide leadership opportunities and enrich the lives of it’s members through personal growth.

The GFWC is a nonprofit organization that brings together local woman’s clubs in a collective effort to strengthen communities and enhance the lives of others through volunteer service.
