COVINGTON — A man on the run since July 4 after he allegedly ran over and killed a special needs man has been located in Upstate New York.

The Newton County Sheriff’s Office announced at a press conference Tuesday afternoon that Joshua Anderson, 27, of Covington, has been apprehended in New York. Anderson faces a charge of malice murder in the death of 20-year-old Kevin Marshall. Officials said the murder may be prosecuted as a hate crime.

Anderson’s girlfriend, Kendra Browning, 30, who was believed to be with him and who was deemed to be a missing person, has also been found in New York, according to authorities.
