CONYERS — State Farm agent Scott Foster graciously invited Rockdale law and safety personnel to a free lunch at Wheeler Park on July 3, and the event drew a bigger turnout than last year.

This is the second year Foster and his team have organized the event.

A little more than 100 Rockdale Fire-Rescue officers and recruits, EMTs, police officers and staff and customers attended.

Foster presented appreciation certificates to each safety unit as well as handed out goody bags, a watermelon and the chance to donate and participate in a raffle to benefit Covington Police Officer Matt Cooper.

“It is nice to see Mr. Scott was able to do this again,” said EMT Hank Miller. “To grab lunch before the holiday chaos begins.”

Covington native and proud Valdosta State alumna, Hunter has previously worked with The Covington News and Valdosta Daily Times. She started working for Rockdale/Newton Citizen in June 2018.
