CONYERS — The Conyers City Council approved changes to the city’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan and zoning ordinance to allow construction of a self-storage development at 2101 East View Pkwy.
The council agreed to rezone 6.6 acres in Quigg Branch busines park from general business district to industrial distribution district to allow construction of the mini-warehouses.
The Conyers Rockdale Planning Commission had recommended approval of the changes, with certain conditions, on Nov. 10.
Applicant David Miles of BDM Development already owns Storage Time in Conyers on Flat Shoals Road near the intersection with Ga. Highway 138.
Among the special conditions for the development is a requirement that access to all mini-warehouse units will be from the interior of the development.
During a public hearing Nov. 17 at the Conyers City Council meeting no one spoke in opposition to the rezoning. The council approved it unanimously.
