CONYERS — The Conyers Department of Community Supervision is participating in a drive to collect back-to-school supplies for needy families in the area for National DCS Summer Service Day on July 18.

Conyers DCS will be collecting supplies including backpacks, paper or notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, highlighters, glue sticks, blunt end scissors and rulers.

They will also be collecting items to assemble in summer care packages to include water bottles, granola bars, fruit cups, deodorant, lip balm, soap, toothpaste and toothbrushes.

All food items to be included in the care packages need to be individually packaged and non-perishable. All school supplies will be organized by need and age group (elementary, middle and high school).

Collection began mid-April and will continue until Monday, July 1 to be prepped for donation on July 18.

Donations need to be brought to the Conyers DCS office collection box located at 365 Salem Gate Way SE Suite No. 1.

School supplies may be distributed to a local school in need or to individual families under DCS supervision.

Care packages may be distributed to the homeless in the community or to individuals in need under DCS supervision.
