CONYERS — The Conyers Police Department has released the identity of a man whose body was found Jan. 20 on the Conyers Post Office property off Ga. Highway 138.
Capt. Jackie Dunn said the man has been identified as John Jerry, 58. His last known address was the Horizon Extended Stay Hotel in Conyers, although it appears he may have been homeless at the time of his death.
Jerry’s body was found on the Post Office property, just behind Conyers Square shopping center, by a work crew.
Dunn said preliminary results from an autopsy performed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Crime Lab indicate the man died of hypothermia; however, the final cause of death is pending toxicology screenings.
