Someone sent me a quote the other day that reads like this: “Don’t allow what has been done to you to become bigger than what Jesus did for you.”

I say “Amen” to that sentence.

How easy it is for us to get wrapped up in what has or hasn’t happened, and forget to get excited about what Jesus has done for us.

Or, maybe we are excited about what He has done for us, but the excitement wears off rather quickly. Usually the latter happens after we’ve come down from the emotions of an experience.

I’m here to tell you that Jesus is way bigger than anything that has ever happened to us, and we desperately need to keep that in mind.

The very same God that created the Heaven and Earth created you. The very same God that was meticulous in how He created the Earth was even more meticulous in how He created you.

If we truly believe that He is the Alpha and Omega, the Beginning and the End, then we need to not let things distract us from realizing that He is bigger than any problem on Earth.

I know — we are human and we all get wrapped up in emotions from time to time. But I think we need to snap out of those emotions a lot faster than we do and give Him all the glory, honor and praise He is so rightly due.

It is important for us to go through trials and tribulations because those things that cause brokenness in out lives can allow us to walk more intimately with God. But we shouldn’t stay there, we should move forward and we need to tell others that it was God who brought us out of the miry clay.

I’ll give you a prime example. Most of you know the story of my childhood, and how rocky it was. I saw with my very own eyes what no child, or adult, should see. I was put in horrible conditions, and yet, here I am today.

In this day and time, according to the world’s standards, I should be out blaming everyone and mad at the world. But I’m not. You see, Jesus is and will always be way bigger than anything I experienced as a child. And He was and is big enough to impress on me a sweet little couple to take me in as their own. And that sweet little couple introduced me to a man named Jesus.

I ask you, what is bigger than Jesus? His love covers a multitude of sins. His love for you is why He stretched out His arms on the cross the dreary day. And His love for you is why He rose again and Heaven is preparing a place for you, with Him, for eternity.

I beg you, do not stay stuck in things that have affected your life — move forward, press on and give Him the glory the whole way.
