After reading Don Shellenberger’s letter concerning Darrell Huckaby’s laughable opinion piece on “the fall of London,” I felt it was necessary to bring up some other awful things Mr. Huckaby has said in his columns.

On April 26, Huckaby claimed that every person running for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination is bad, saying he “couldn’t tell one socialist that’s running from another.” He also used a derogatory term to describe Sen. Elizabeth Warren and went so far as saying that one of the main reasons why Sen. Kamala Harris is in the presidential race is because she’s an “African American woman.”

But wait, there’s more.

Going back to March 26, Mr. Huckaby said this about voters in a column opposing the idea of abolishing the Electoral College: “People will vote multiple times ... (C)rooked administrators in certain districts will just mark ballots for imaginary voters, many of whom are dead.”

But that’s not all.

In other columns, Huckaby has blamed “the lunatic left” for all of the problems in our country, said that Rep. Hank Johnson couldn’t “pass the simple high school history test my AP students were required to take,” constantly attacked Stacey Abrams and called her a “liberal socialist.”

Remember the words of William Hague (a conservative, no less): “Let’s not be afraid to speak the common sense truth: You can’t have high standards without good discipline.”

The Rockdale/Newton Citizen has neither. It has Darrell Huckaby instead.
