CONYERS - The Rockdale County Board of Elections and Voter Registration is moving to 1261 Commercial Drive, SW, Suite B in Conyers, effective March 14.

The Board of Elections is the last of the government offices that were previously located in the county complex at 1400 Parker Road to find a new home. It became necessary to move after the county agreed to lease the complex to Restoration Storehouse in 2017.

The new office is located 3/10’s of a mile away from the old office, in the same building as Rockdale County 4-H. The phone number, fax number and email address of the Board of Elections will remain the same.

According to Board of Elections Supervisor Cynthia Willingham, the space inside the new office is comparable to the Parker Road site, as is the number of parking spaces that will be available for citizens going to the office to register or for early voting.

“We will be on the bottom floor at the back of the building,” she said. “It is pretty much the same size. We lose just a little bit of space. We have the full backside of the building for parking and there are at least 200 parking spaces available.”

The Board of Elections will be closed for business on Wednesday during the move, and will be open for business in the new location at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 14.

“Feel free to drop by and see our new place,” said Willingham. “We look forward to seeing you.
