Race for Life returns in April

CONYERS — The Refuge Center is looking for strong men, women, boys, and girls to come out and be an “Everyday Hero” in the 8th annual Race for Life 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, April 13, at 8 a.m. Races will begin and end at Rockdale Baptist Church, 1295 Smyrna Road SW in Conyers. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each age group and masters male and female.

Registration is now open at www.friendsofrefuge.org/Hero. Entry fee is $26/Adult and $12/Child (under 12). Children 4 and under are free. Race registration includes “Everyday Hero” T-shirt, video of racer crossing the finish line, and digital chipped timing. The first 100 adult runners to register will receive a free cape. Costumes are welcome, but no masks are allowed during the race. Registration is available the day of the race and begins at 7 a.m. All proceeds will benefit The Refuge Center.

The Refuge Center, also known as Refuge Pregnancy Center, has been serving Rockdale County and surrounding areas for 35 years. Located at 1307 Milstead Ave. in Conyers, Refuge is a non-profit organization that exists to promote healthy pregnancy, birth, and lifestyle through support, education, and compassion. The Refuge Center works to prepare, educate, and equip mothers and fathers for the important roles they will have in their children’s lives.
