This week’s question was: “Newton County Commissioner John Douglas has come under fire for racially and sexually derogatory comments he posted on Facebook and has apologized. Do you think an apology is sufficient in this case? Why or why not?”
“John has been punished enough by losing his job at GPC, but I wish he would quit wrapping himself in the flag and simply say, ‘I screwed up and it won’t happen again.’ If he truly wants to serve Newton County, he will resolve the Tommy Craig mess. This county will not move forward as long as Mr Craig is our county attorney.”
Editor’s note: Commissioner Douglas has been placed on administrative leave with pay at Georgia Perimeter College.
“Commissioner Douglas needs to resign ASAP. Make it happen or I will.”
