“I have talked to three of our five BOC members and all have denied asking Keith Ellis for a plan allowing him to run our $46,000,000 county government. Either Ellis or the three members I talked to are lying. On the bright side, the primary elections are next May, 11 months until housecleaning.”

“John Douglas needs to be voted out of office.”

“Miss Black, I love reading your comments. You are so funny and really make me laugh, but what is so funny to me is how many people get upset about what you have to say. You must be hitting a nerve.”

“I have always sort of ignored the comments here but I always enjoy reading them and I appreciate the Newton Citizen newspaper for publishing this Poll weekly. It gives the citizens a chance to be heard. Sometimes it is funny and sometimes it is boring, but usually it is funny. I have to say that I have felt like the comments about the local college have been sort of overblown. However, when I went with my son to the enrollment office I learned the comments are true. … GPC clean your act up fast. Thank goodness for the merger; I hope he eats you up. … ”

“Thank you to the Newton Citizen for publishing the health scores in our county. I will be eating at Waffle House more and at the private diners less. Congratulations to Waffle House on the 100 percent scores at multiple locations. I think a lot of restaurant owners could learn a lot from visiting the Waffle House.”

“Go figure, our Board of Commissioners tables another vote. Can they get any work done? Remember this is the board that canceled their annual meeting because of a drizzle and some humidity.”

——

“You go Ms. Black! Love your bold defense of our American freedom of speech.”

“I cannot believe the number of people at Georgia Perimeter College who are obsessed with Shannon Black and spend work time reading her posts and her blogs and commenting about her. It is sort of sick. The lady is allowed to do what she wants; if you don’t like it, don’t read it.”
