The Porterdale City Council recently approved the appointment of Mallory Q. Minor as thee new city clerk. Minor will also serve as the city treasurer and elections superintendent.

A life-long resident of Rockdale County, Minor has served as the appointed clerk of court of the Magistrate Court of Rockdale County and chief deputy clerk of court of the Municipal Court of Athens-Clarke County. She is also actively involved with several professional and civic organizations, including Rockdale County Board of Equalization and Georgia Council of Court Administrators.

Minor earned a bachelor of science in legal studies and associate of applied science in paralegal studies from Clayton State University. She is currently completing her master’s in professional studies at Tennessee State University.


I have been editor of the Rockdale Citizen since 1996 and editor of the Newton Citizen since it began publication in 2004. I am also currently executive editor of the Clayton News Daily, Henry Daily Herald and Jackson Progress-Argus.
