“Aren’t downtown businesses compensated in any way during filming? I know that in Atlanta, businesses are paid a certain amount per day of filming. If that’s not happening in Conyers, then these local businesses are right to complain. Otherwise, they should try and capitalize on the fact that we are the place where these movies/TV shows are filming, and get some of the tourist crowd in here to buy from their stores. Make lemonade, in other words. I never see anything promoted about Conyers as a film town; I’d strongly suggest Olde Town get cracking and get some tours and other promotional things going. It’s doing wonders for Senoia. Why can’t we do it?”
“I think the balconies in Olde Town should remain for the pleasure of the citizens. It’s their reward for having to compensate for traffic ‘The Originals’ may have caused. Local businesses and Olde Town will be glad they kept it once the show is completed.”
“At Valdosta State University a group of demonstrators were protesting by walking on our American flag. A single military veteran had the courage to try to protect and defend that flag. Guess whose right to express themselves was defended? Guess whose right to express herself got her banned from the campus? Guess what country has lost its mind in determining what rights are included the freedom of speech? To the veteran, Michelle Manhart, I thank you for your courage and patriotism. I am also a veteran and I am proud of you.”
