The Rockdale Citizen Poll question for this week was: “With school resuming in just a few weeks, do you think the summer break is long enough, or would you like to return to the more traditional school calendar?”

——

“School should be year-round, and attendance strictly enforced. Perhaps that way we can have a few hours crime-free before the juveniles are back on the streets.”

——

“I vote for a traditional summer.”

——

“Summer break is never long enough!”

——

“It’s plenty long enough.”

——

“It’s according to how many kids you have at home and if they’re driving you crazy, LOL! So enjoying my one preteen this summer!”

——

“I think it’s too long. LOL … kids do get bored of being home for that long … they are super excited about going back.”

——

“We haven’t been bored. We have gone to Vacation Bible School, the library hosts a different kids show every week and they have a reading program. We have been to the new splash pad at Milstead and played at different playgrounds in the area. And we have visited a different state park every week. Get involved with your kids, you only get one shot at this, and then they’re grown up before you know it!”
