Donald Wayne Don Lyon

Watkinsville, GA Donald Wayne Lyon, 70, of Watkinsville passed away on October 3, 2021. Born on March 28, 1951, he was the son of the late Jesse Lyon and Zelda Clark Lyon.

Don grew up in Albany, GA. He graduated from Dougherty High School in 1969. He served in the 34th Infantry platoon with the US Armed Forces in Vietnam. He was a fan of all things Georgia Football. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed traveling to the beach with his family, and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He retired with Teijin Aramid USA after a long successful career in sales and management.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Lyon.

Survivors include his children, Leslie Boutwell, Lacy McClendon (Alan), Jamie Lyon; grandchildren, Grace, Landon, Isaac, Madi, Wren, Claire, Bonnie; siblings, Barbara Jansen, David Lyon; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Oconee Memorial Park in Watkinsville, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm at Oconee Chapel.
