Penelope "Penny" Britt
Penelope "Penny" McCullough Britt of McDonough, Georgia, formerly of Covington, Georgia, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, June 14, 2019.
Penny was the daughter of the late Romeo James Moore and Mary Ryals Moore of Covington, Georgia. She attended the Dale Streable Beauty School in Atlanta and received a beautician certificate. She was the sole proprietor of "Styles by Penny" for many years. She attended Georgia State University and earned a B.A. Degree in Accounting, and then worked at Mobil Chemical until she retired in 1998. After retiring, Penny and her husband Herb traveled extensively with Campers on Mission as volunteers helping victims of many catastrophic disasters.
Penny is survived by her husband Herbert Britt of McDonough, Georgia, daughter Angela West, son-in-law Ronnie West, daughter Andrea Haymore, daughter Adrienne McCullough, daughter-in-law Catherine Watson and husband, Butch Watson, daughter-in-law Pam Britt; grandchildren Shana West, Leigh Anna Woodard (husband, Jeremy), T.J. Johnson (wife, Alysha), Melissa West, Marynell Haymore, Paige Wilder, Rachel Pickens (husband, Jeremy), Laura Grover (husband, Garrett), Ben Watson (wife, Leigh) David Watson; a host of great-grandchildren that she was immensely proud of; sisters Martha Duncan, June Camp, Faye Hull (husband, Thornton), Mary Towns (husband, Phillip); brother Wayne Moore (wife, Connie), and a host of nieces and nephews, all whom she loved so dearly.
The Celebration of Life for Penny will be held at Salem Baptist Church in McDonough, Georgia, on June 22, 2019 at 2:00 pm, with family visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church in Penny's honor.
