Timothy George O'Brien
Timothy George O'Brien 53, of Covington formally of Conyers, passed away Friday, May 31, 2019 at Atlanta Medical Center. Tim was born in Coral Gables, Florida to Dottie and the late George O'Brien. He is survived by his sons Tyler and Nick O'Brien, mother Dorothy "Dottie" O'Brien, brothers Jerry (Nancy) O'Brien, Mike (Babbie) O'Brien, sisters Pam O'Brien, Patrice O'Brien, former wife and friend Dawn O'Brien Milazzo & John Milazzo, several nieces, nephew, aunts, and cousins. Tim was blessed to grow up in the idyllic island paradise of Key Biscayne. Surrounded by families who moved to this barrier island for a tropical life, Tim enjoyed all of the activities that a child could dream of. He participated in football, soccer and baseball but his genuine love was the ocean. Not just as activities, but in a true spiritual connection, Fishing and diving became Tim's passion. He grew as an outdoorsman accompanied by his dear friends affectionately known as Key Rats. Tim graduated from Coral Gables High School and attended college in Tallahassee. Tim moved to Georgia and married Dawn who gave birth to sons Tyler and Nick. Timmy continually radiated and expressed the highest regard and love for his mom, Dottie O'Brien and his children. Nothing meant more to Tim than his powerful love for his sons. Tim educated and immersed himself in the nutrition industry by owning and managing the Nutrition Depot in Conyers, Georgia. Here he made many friends and assisted customers in their pursuit of better health. Tim should be remembered as a very strong individual who would sacrifice and help anyone in need. Although life was rocky at times, Tim was always willing to hit the reset button and move forward in the direction of serving others. So many people enter our lives. Tim did not pass through silently he reached out and touched us with his heart. Slow down, pause and reflect, feel that breeze, hear the waves at the beach, feel the love of a pet dog. It's all Tim. He's an eternal being, absent from the body but walking with our ever present Creator. He's still here, just look and listen. Please enjoy wearing casual colorful clothes to the Celebration of Life. Another gathering to honor Tim will take place on Key Biscayne in the future. Service for Tim will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at 2pm at Wheeler Funeral Home 11405 Brown Bridge Rd. Covington, GA. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude's at www.stjude.org.
