Eastside baseball preview 2019

Eastside's Colby Shivers

COVINGTON -- Eastside baseball's region 4-AAAA opener against Henry County was over before it started after the Eagles needed just three innings to defeat the Warhawks 15-0 Thursday night at home.

Senior Lawson Beshears tossed three no-hit innings while striking out four, giving the Eagles' offense more than enough breathing room to record 11 hits and 11 RBI in 21 at-bats.

Eastside (8-1, 1-0) lead-off hitter Colby Shivers finished his night at the plate 3-for-3 with two RBI. He also scored three runs. Noah Cook knocked in two runs with a double while both Ethan Booth and Aron Cox drove in a pair of runs. Dawson Schwartz recorded two hits at the plate, drove in one run and scored three times.

Kyle Shivers recorded a triple, driving in a run in his only hit. The freshman also walked once. Senior John Robert McGowan also drove in a run in the win with a double.
