SNELLVILLE — Rockdale County wrestling added two more team victories to the season total Wednesday night after defeating South Gwinnett and Meadowcreek in a meet hosted by the Comets.

The Bulldogs faced off against the Comets to start off the night, earning victories in 11 of the 14 weight classes to win 52-17. In the second meet, The Bulldogs knocked off the Mustangs 52-30 with wins in nine weight classes.

Rodney Winston (160), Kaleb Walley (220) and Ed Pollard (285) each picked up two victories on the night, each via pin while Jha’Quan Anderson (182) defeated his opponent against South Gwinnett 12-3 before winning via forfeit against Meadowcreek. Both Tayjah Daley (113) and Antonio Lucero (138) won their respective matches against the Comets before having their arm raised with forfeit victories over Meadowcreek.

Robert Perez (126) and Derrick Harris (132) each split their two matches with both earning wins against South Gwinnett before losing to Meadowcreek.

“The matches went great,” Anderson said. “We came in here and took care of business while picking up a region win over South Gwinnett. The boys and I know not to get to ahead of ourselves, though, because there is more competition coming in the future.”
