New NFL stadiums in Las Vegas and Los Angeles are being targeted for a different kind of football as Barcelona and Real Madrid look to play a Clasico "friendly" in the United States this summer, ESPN reported.

Spain's most riveting soccer showdown could be coming to the new Raiders stadium off the Las Vegas Strip, or the new Rams/Chargers $5 billion home south of Los Angeles. Construction remains ongoing at both venues.

Both teams are regular visitors to the United States in the summer, although Barcelona played without star Lionel Messi in the U.S. last year as he worked his way through an injury. Barcelona plans on doing most of its summer preparation in Spain this year.

Barcelona and Real Madrid played against each other in 2017 at Miami in front of a crowd of more than 66,000. Barcelona earned a 3-2 victory.
